This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +2 more countries.
• Take ownership of the Trust & Safety product strategy and roadmap.
• Convert business risks and user insights into a clear, prioritized action plan.
• Transition from a reactive incident response model to a proactive, intelligence-driven fraud prevention approach.
• Develop the Risk Engine, data signals intelligence, anomaly detection, and investigative tools.
• Deliver AI-native Trust & Safety product experiences utilizing ML models, LLMs, and behavioral signals.
• Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering to design, prototype, and implement real-time detection and decision-making systems.
• Balance fraud mitigation efforts with marketplace growth while reducing friction for legitimate users.
• Define and monitor Trust & Safety metrics such as fraud loss rates, false positive/negative rates, time-to-resolution, user trust scores, and financial exposure.
• Articulate the impact in business terminology to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams.
• Establish instrumentation, monitoring, and evaluation capabilities for fraud rates, model performance, and user impact.
• Create business cases that quantify fraud losses and the ROI of prevention efforts.
• Secure necessary resources and drive data-informed prioritization.
• Ensure that products and strategies comply with local and regional legal, compliance, and security standards.
• Utilize AI for threat analysis, synthetic user research, specification documentation, and experimentation pipelines.
• Represent Trust & Safety at the leadership level and present strategy, risk posture, and outcomes to executive audiences.
• Extensive product management experience in the digital sector, including consumer-facing platforms, marketplaces, mobility, e-commerce, classifieds, fintech, or other high-scale environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing trust-related products or areas such as Trust & Safety, Fraud Prevention, Risk, Identity & Verification, Marketplace Integrity, Account Security, Abuse Prevention, Payments Risk, or Compliance Technology.
• Proven history of creating scalable systems that proactively identify, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, risk, or other trust-related challenges.
• Strong analytical and data-driven approach, including defining success metrics, assessing impact, and prioritizing decisions based on evidence and measurable results.
• Experience collaborating with Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and other cross-functional stakeholders in regulated or high-risk environments.
• Experience in vendor management and collaborative efforts.
• Familiarity with building, deploying, or closely working with machine learning, AI, risk scoring, decision-making, detection, recommendation, or automation systems.
• Ability to balance user experience, marketplace expansion, operational efficiency, and risk management.
• Capability to navigate ambiguity, manage complex problem areas, influence senior stakeholders, and drive strategy and execution across multiple teams.
• Strong foundational product skills applicable across various fraud domains.
• Proficient in building and iterating core Data (Science) products at scale.
• Experience in multiple international markets and regulatory frameworks is advantageous.
• Knowledge of emerging regulations and industry trends impacting online platforms, digital marketplaces, payments, AI, and consumer trust is a plus.
