This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Spearhead the product strategy for SafelyYou’s upcoming generation of sensing and response hardware.
• Oversee the development of eCall v2, a cost-effective in-room response system designed to meet life-safety standards.
• Direct the creation of Guardian Pro Next Gen, an edge sensing device aimed at reducing adoption hurdles in assisted living environments.
• Manage the multi-generation hardware roadmap informed by customer insights and portfolio priorities.
• Develop business cases prior to New Product Introduction (NPI), detailing target Bill of Materials (BOM), capital expenditure, profit margins, payback period, and Internal Rate of Return (IRR).
• Convert cross-team requirements into specifications for hardware and edge-compute, addressing privacy, aesthetics, and assisted-living acceptance challenges.
• Choose appropriate sensing modalities that incorporate AI & Intelligence and unify on common platforms to minimize SKU proliferation.
• Lead stage-gate processes from concept through Engineering Verification Testing (EVT), Design Verification Testing (DVT), Production Verification Testing (PVT), and product launch, while incorporating life-safety certification planning.
• Ensure comprehensive product launch readiness in collaboration with Operations and Support teams.
• Oversee end-of-life transitions in partnership with Device & Fleet teams.
• Take ownership of stage-gate readiness, validation of customer requirements, and attainment of target BOM.
• Candidates must reside in the United States or Canada.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in product management.
• Proven experience in guiding connected hardware (IoT, edge, or smart devices) from concept through NPI to mass production.
• Strong skills in business modeling, including BOM, profit margins, and ROI/IRR analysis.
• Familiarity with hardware architecture, including System on Chips (SoCs), edge AI computation, and sensors.
• Experience collaborating with contract manufacturers throughout NPI and scaling processes.
• Proven track record in delivering both off-the-shelf integrated and custom hardware solutions.
• Strongly preferred: experience with life-safety or regulated devices (UL 2560/1069, medical), non-optical sensing, or senior living and building systems.
