This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Direct the electromechanical design of high-voltage substations, ensuring adherence to technical excellence and compliance with both international and local standards.
• Supervise the technical specifications and procurement requirements, selecting equipment based on performance, quality, and budgetary constraints.
• Evaluate contractual obligations to identify potential risks or deviations and manage technical inquiries to reduce design changes and delays.
• Facilitate collaboration among engineering disciplines and integrate electromechanical systems into the substation design framework.
• Offer technical support to construction and commissioning teams, refining design packages with insights and data gathered from the field.
• Oversee engineering subcontractors for assigned work packages, ensuring adherence to schedules, specifications, and quality protocols.
• Confirm that project deliverables align with EHS requirements and meet company quality standards.
• Contribute to project documentation and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Automation & Control Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in Engineering roles as the lead primary engineer within an EPC or EEP environment in Transmission & Distribution Power Systems, Power Generation, or related industries.
• Demonstrated professional experience in the Venezuelan energy sector, with a thorough understanding of local regulatory requirements, technical standards (e.g., COVENIN), and the specific operational characteristics of the grid.
• Proficient in Spanish.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Comprehensive knowledge of regulations, standards, and the market for high and extra-high voltage electrical substations in Latin America, particularly focusing on Colombia, Venezuela, and Peru.
• Strong understanding of high voltage power transformers, shunt reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers, and medium voltage systems.
• Familiarity with high voltage products, substation engineering design, and associated services.
• Knowledge of international standards for substations (IEEE, IEC, ANSI).
• Experience in resolving technical problems effectively.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for meetings, site inspections, and training sessions.
• Experience in construction, field testing, and commissioning.
• Excellent teamwork skills, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
