This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Configure and oversee Payroll functionalities, including pay components, earnings and deductions, pay groups, period schedules, and payroll-related business procedures.
β’ Set up and manage Absence features, such as time-off plans, accrual rules, eligibility criteria, and various leave types.
β’ Establish and maintain Time Tracking processes, including time entry templates, validations, work calendars, and overtime calculations.
β’ Configure and sustain Core HCM foundations, encompassing supervisory organizations, staffing models, job profiles, job/compensation structures, custom organizations, and worker data integrity.
β’ Assist in annual and recurring People cycles within Workday, which includes compensation reviews, open enrollment configurations, and organizational restructures (mass supervisory organization changes and updates to the job catalog).
β’ Design, construct, and uphold business process definitions in both domains, which includes condition rules, calculated fields, custom validations, routing and approval logic, and notifications.
β’ Collaborate with the Payroll team to resolve configuration-related payroll issues, including gross-to-net discrepancies, retro calculations, and off-cycle errors β while the Payroll team manages processing, you will handle the underlying configuration.
β’ Possess a strong understanding of the Workday security model: role-based, user-based, and intersection security groups, domain security policies, business process security policies, and integration system users (ISUs), applying sound judgment on when to utilize each during configuration and troubleshooting across domains.
β’ Assist in security and data audits alongside the broader team, utilizing Workday delivered and custom audit reports to assess access patterns, rectify exceptions, and maintain segregation of duties.
β’ Conduct impact analyses prior to implementing changes, focusing on how modifications in HCM and security affect payroll, absence, and time data.
β’ Over 7 years of experience as a Workday Business Systems Analyst, showcasing proficiency in system configuration, testing, and implementation.
β’ Workday Pro accreditations or Workday partner certifications in HCM, Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking.
β’ Familiarity with Workday Prism Analytics, Extend, or advanced reporting capabilities beyond the standard report writer.
β’ Experience in leveraging AI tools for HRIS or People operations, or a strong desire to develop this capability.
β’ Extensive hands-on experience with Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking (PATT) configuration and design, business process configuration, and Security.
β’ Proficient working knowledge of Workday Core HCM.
β’ Background in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with the ability to adapt between roles as needed.
β’ Strong technical skills, including an understanding of Workday architecture, security models, and integration methodologies.
β’ Experience in full lifecycle Workday implementations and/or significant module expansions.
β’ Demonstrate intellectual curiosity by questioning "why" before "how," investigating root causes instead of symptoms, and staying up-to-date with Workday and related HR technology out of genuine interest.
β’ Approach challenges with creativity, willing to look beyond conventional solutions to find practical answers that align with business needs.
β’ Treat HR data security and privacy as a fundamental principle in all that you develop and maintain.
β’ Excel in building relationships and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels.
