Lead Forward Deployed Engineer – Generative AI, LLM, RAG

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Lead enterprise projects focused on the implementation of Generative AI.

• Comprehend business challenges faced by clients and convert them into technical and system specifications.

• Offer technical support and consultancy for new project proposals.

• Evaluate technical feasibility, system limitations, development scope, and necessary resources.

• Design technical architectures and roadmaps for Generative AI solutions.

• Direct projects technically from proof of concept (PoC) to production deployment.

• Create solutions utilizing LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and associated technologies.

• Collaborate with consultants, backend engineers, data scientists, SREs, and other team members.

• Engage actively in prototype development and execution.

• Leverage technical knowledge from customer projects to enhance products and platforms.

• Manage the complete process from customer proposals and requirements definition to architecture design, PoC, implementation, and production deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in system development within an SIer or through commissioned/custom development projects.

• Practical expertise in system design and implementation.

• Capability to independently research, validate, and address unfamiliar technical issues.

• Proficiency in interpreting architecture diagrams and system constraints to identify suitable implementation strategies.

• Experience in direct communication with customers and addressing business challenges through technology.

• Ability to manage both technical consulting and hands-on development tasks.

• Proficient in business-level Japanese communication, including technical discussions.

• Must reside in Japan.

• Preferred: Professional experience as a Solution Architect.

• Preferred: Background in Generative AI or RAG-related projects.

• Preferred: Familiarity with infrastructure architecture.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Azure, Docker, Terraform, or similar technologies.

• Preferred: Experience in breaking down technical requirements and identifying necessary engineering resources.

• Preferred: Previous work on projects within a startup or venture company.

• Ideal: Strong sense of ownership and ability to independently lead projects.

• Ideal: Skill in bridging business needs with technology solutions.
