Software Engineer, LLM Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create and develop comprehensive features for products where agents and humans collaborate.

• Develop products that deliver AI-generated results, uncertainty, and citations in a reliable manner.

• Work alongside political researchers, data scientists, and engineers to transform ambiguous challenges into functional software.

• Leverage AI tools and coding agents to expedite development while assessing when interface refinement is essential.

• Engage with users and internal stakeholders to pinpoint and resolve confusing, slow, or unreliable tools.

• Acquire knowledge of political strategies and design systems that reflect users’ objectives and thought processes.

• Contribute to the success of Democrats in the 2026 midterms and establish a foundation for the 2028 presidential election.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience as a product engineer, full-stack engineer, or designer-engineer hybrid.

• A portfolio showcasing successfully launched products.

• Strong instincts in product development and user experience.

• Capability to evaluate workflows, propose alternatives, and articulate trade-offs in clear language.

• Proficient in utilizing coding agents to develop rapidly without sacrificing quality.

• Practical experience in building products utilizing LLMs, including chat interfaces, agents, and retrieval-augmented tools.

• Knowledge of incorporating human annotations to integrate human expertise into AI systems.

• An eye for visual and interaction design.

• Familiarity with tools like Figma is an advantage.

• Driven by Blue Rose Research’s mission and eager to learn about the progressive political landscape.

• Previous experience in political or civic tech is appreciated but not mandatory.

• Must possess authorization to work legally in the United States.
