AI Engineer – LLM, VLM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and implement AI applications leveraging LLMs and VLMs.

• Construct RAG pipelines that encompass document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, retrieval, reranking, and generation.

• Collaborate with models such as GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Mistral, Qwen, and various multimodal/VLM models.

• Create multimodal solutions that integrate text, images, PDFs, charts, tables, and documents.

• Execute prompt engineering, supervised fine-tuning, LoRA/QLoRA, and model assessment.

• Develop AI agents and tool-calling workflows as necessary.

• Enhance inference for latency, throughput, memory usage, and cost efficiency.

• Develop APIs and production services utilizing Python, FastAPI, Docker, and cloud platforms.

• Establish evaluation frameworks to assess accuracy, hallucination, relevance, latency, and safety.

• Partner with ML engineers, software engineers, and product teams to transition prototypes into production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Python programming and foundational software engineering principles.

• Practical experience with LLMs and/or VLMs.

• Strong grasp of Transformers, attention mechanisms, tokenization, embeddings, and inference techniques.

• Familiarity with PyTorch and Hugging Face Transformers.

• Experience in constructing RAG systems and vector-search solutions.

• Knowledge of prompt engineering and LLM evaluation methodologies.

• Proficient with APIs, REST services, Git, Docker, and CI/CD processes.

• Acquainted with vector databases such as FAISS, Milvus, Pinecone, Weaviate, or pgvector.

• Understanding of cloud AI infrastructure, preferably AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience with multimodal models like Qwen-VL, LLaVA, Gemini, GPT vision models, or similar technologies.

• Familiarity with image preprocessing and document/image understanding principles.

• Experience with OCR, document intelligence, image classification, object detection, or visual question answering is advantageous.

• Capacity to create pipelines that integrate vision, language, and retrieval.
