This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the primary technical and consultative engineering leader.
• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to comprehend business challenges, workflows, limitations, and technical specifications.
• Facilitate discovery sessions and technical workshops.
• Convert business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Design and oversee data architecture utilizing PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
• Develop and enhance a secure, scalable, production-ready platform based on an existing prototype.
• Make architectural choices related to backend services, APIs, data, integrations, infrastructure, security, and reliability.
• Write production-quality Python services and APIs as necessary.
• Establish technical guidance alongside platform, data, backend, and optimization engineers.
• Assist in defining the roadmap from prototype through MVP to production.
• Identify and convey technical risks, gaps, dependencies, and trade-offs.
• Collaborate with the client's current architect and engineering team.
• Develop production engineering practices encompassing observability, security, deployment, reliability, and maintainability.
• Take ownership of outcomes and delivery.
• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, solutions architecture, or a similar technical field, with senior-level oversight of production systems.
• Strong practical software engineering experience, especially with Python and backend services/APIs.
• Robust system design and architecture capabilities, with a history of creating production-grade distributed systems.
• Experience in transforming an existing prototype, proof of concept, or MVP into a production system.
• Proven history of working directly with clients or business stakeholders to uncover requirements and shape technical solutions.
• Experience in leading technical discussions, workshops, design sessions, or architecture reviews with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to convert business requirements and processes into technical architecture and implementation strategies.
• Strong knowledge of scalability, reliability, security, observability, deployment, and data architecture.
• Capable of being both consultative and hands-on.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Comfortable operating in a client-facing, dynamic environment where requirements may evolve.
• Candidates must reside in contiguous US states.
• Candidates should be US citizens, Green Card Holders, or sole proprietors of their own LLC company.
• Candidates requiring visa sponsorship are not eligible.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in healthcare, HIPAA/PHI, workforce management, HRIS/ERP/EMR/EHR, enterprise systems, optimization/ML, and related tools.
• Contract engagement via the Gigster network, with full-time commitment expected.
• Initial term aligned with the production build, with a likely extension as the pod model grows across business units.
