This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the performance, availability, reliability, and energy production KPIs of solar and energy storage assets.
• Evaluate operational data, alarms, events, and maintenance history to pinpoint performance discrepancies, recurring problems, and potential risks.
• Create and manage standardized dashboards, reports, and analytical views to enhance fleet and asset-level visibility.
• Investigate instances of underperformance and assess the technical, operational, and customer impacts.
• Compare assets, sites, configurations, and operating conditions to discover performance gaps and identify best practices.
• Collaborate with the Reliability and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) teams to delineate affected populations, assist with investigations, and confirm the effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Design early-warning indicators and analytical techniques that foster condition-based and predictive maintenance.
• Convert analytical insights into prioritized recommendations for operations, maintenance, engineering, controls, software, and product teams.
• Specify data and contextualization needs with Data Engineering and Analytics/AI teams, including asset hierarchy and phase-module traceability.
• Detect issues related to data quality, completeness, and consistency, and support sustainable corrective measures.
• Convey fleet insights, risks, and proposed actions to technical teams, customers, and business leaders.
• Maintain analytical methods, assumptions, and documentation while fostering data-driven decision-making and ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate with Fleet Reliability & Root Cause Analysis, Controls Engineering, Data Analytics, AI, Field Service, Product Engineering, Quality, and R&D teams.
• Assist in transitioning the organization from reactive issue investigation to proactive and predictive fleet management.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Controls Engineering, Energy Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Engineering experience with power conversion, renewable energy, energy storage, industrial controls, electrical systems, or similar complex technical products.
• Experience in analyzing operational or field data to resolve technical challenges.
• Capability to interpret alarms, events, trends, electrical measurements, and system operating conditions.
• Proficient in communicating complex technical findings clearly to both engineering and leadership audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple engineering disciplines and global teams.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 10-15% of the time.
• Experience with utility-scale solar inverters, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), power conversion systems, or renewable power plants.
• Background in Field Service, Commissioning, Product Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or technical troubleshooting.
• Understanding of inverter and power-conversion architecture.
• Familiarity with plant controls, SCADA, PLCs, historians, alarms, and event logging.
• Experience handling large operational datasets.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, Power BI, MATLAB, or equivalent analytical platforms.
• Experience with time-series data analysis.
• Knowledge of reliability concepts such as failure rate, MTBF, population analysis, and failure-mode classification.
• Experience in supporting Root Cause Analysis.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and anomaly detection.
• Ability to comprehend interactions between hardware, software, controls, environmental conditions, and system operation.
