This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the DDC engineering responsibilities throughout assigned projects, from design to commissioning and handover.
• Establish control strategies, DDC architecture, controller setups, network design, and integration specifications.
• Facilitate coordination of DDC deliverables among project teams, field personnel, vendors, contractors, SCADA engineers, and system integrators.
• Offer technical guidance in client meetings, design assessments, coordination discussions, and problem-solving sessions.
• Convey technical risks, resource requirements, timeline effects, and priorities to project managers and the Field Engineering Manager.
• Design and implement Delta Controls DDC systems utilizing GCL+ and associated tools.
• Create control logic for HVAC systems, central plants, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and essential infrastructure.
• Direct controller databases, operational sequences, alarms, scheduling, trending, and recovery logic.
• Assist with integrations involving enteliWEB, Ignition SCADA, BMS, EPMS, and other facility platforms.
• Set up and deploy Delta Controls enteliWEB environments.
• Execute design evaluations, code assessments, testing, and validation processes.
• Uphold programming standards, reusable code libraries, templates, naming conventions, and documentation practices.
• Enhance engineering processes, tools, workflows, and project execution strategies.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts during startup and commissioning phases.
• Facilitate static and dynamic commissioning, point-to-point verification, and customer acceptance processes.
• Identify and resolve issues pertaining to GCL+ logic, controllers, networks, field devices, enteliWEB, and third-party integrations.
• Implement and validate BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP, and other protocol integrations.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors on system integration and problem-solving.
• Mentor Field DDC Engineers and Senior Field DDC Engineers.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, code review insights, and project assistance.
• Support the onboarding and training of new team members.
• Raise recurring skill gaps and development needs to the Field Engineering Manager.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in DDC programming, building automation, or controls engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in technical leadership or team lead roles in field operations.
• Expert proficiency with Delta Controls GCL+ and related software tools.
• Extensive hands-on experience with enteliWEB deployment, configuration, and commissioning.
• Proven track record in programming and commissioning complex HVAC systems, including central plants, chillers, and boilers.
• Advanced understanding of BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP, and network configurations.
• Experience leading DDC scope on complex projects from design to handover.
• Willingness to travel 50–60%, including extended site assignments.
• A valid driver's license.
• OSHA 10 certification obtained within the past two years is required; training will be provided if necessary within the first week.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Delta Controls Fundamentals and Advanced Applications certification is preferred.
• Experience in data centers, hyperscale infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities is preferred.
• Familiarity with Ignition SCADA, Kepware, OPC UA, EPMS, or historian integrations is preferred.
• Experience with server setup, virtual machines, or OT network environments is preferred.
• Experience in a systems integrator or engineering services setting is preferred.
• Exposure to OT cybersecurity or formal commissioning standards is preferred.
• Capability to travel by car or plane and work at job sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work at heights and in various indoor and outdoor environments.
• Ability to use required PPE and operate hand and power tools safely.
