Lead Director, State Strategy and Growth

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and execute strategic initiatives aligned with specific state Medicaid priorities and healthcare policy environments.

• Convert high-level strategies into practical workplans and spearhead cross-functional implementation.

• Create policy briefs, blog articles, presentations, and other materials that articulate complex policy matters.

• Act as a liaison for CVS government affairs teams, advocating for Medicaid interests and ensuring cohesion.

• Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and networking events to advance Medicaid initiatives.

• Establish and nurture relationships with community organizations, providers, associations, and advocacy professionals.

• Track and evaluate policy and legislative trends to guide strategic planning and uncover opportunities.

• Offer strategic assistance to navigate challenges and develop innovative solutions.

• Identify and seek out new business prospects through professional networks and collaborations.

• Report directly to the Executive Director of Medicaid Business Development.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in Medicaid policy or managed care leadership.

• Demonstrated success in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and policy advocacy.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Flexibility and readiness to travel as needed, potentially up to 50% of the time.

• Experience with Medicaid procurements and state healthcare contracts is advantageous.

• Background in healthcare strategy.

• Experience in government relations or legislative affairs.

• Knowledge of value-based care, LTSS, and dual-eligible programs.

• Established professional connections within Medicaid and healthcare policy.

• Bachelor's degree in public policy, health administration, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience/education.
