Lead Data Engineer, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Enhance and expand an existing Python class-based codebase.

• Create object-oriented solutions for sourcing, transforming, and loading data into tables.

• Construct and manage ETL workflows utilizing Microsoft Fabric notebooks.

• Collaborate closely with client resources during East Coast business hours.

• Provide mentorship to junior developers in Microsoft Fabric, Python, and object-oriented programming.

• Offer hands-on technical leadership and deliver high-quality solutions.

• Advocate for effective development practices and maintainable code.

• Create production-ready Python class objects for loading a Data Vault model from a Medallion ETL delta source.

• Facilitate near real-time processing through structured streaming.

• Work collaboratively with client teams and independently to deliver sustainable data solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be available to work during East Coast hours.

• Excellent English communication skills.

• Extensive experience in Python development.

• Proficient in Microsoft Fabric, especially with notebooks.

• Proven experience with object-oriented programming and class development.

• Experience in developing solutions that source, transform, and load data into tables.

• Strong background in ETL processes.

• Experience in leading and mentoring junior developers.

• Ability to think critically, independently solve problems, and effectively collaborate with client teams.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Data Vault data models.

• Preferred: Experience with AI tools for code generation or development acceleration.

• Preferred: Background in higher education.
