This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and direct civil engineering design projects for large-scale solar photovoltaic installations
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams in civil, structural, and electrical design
• Offer guidance and mentorship to engineering staff
• Evaluate designs for quality and assist in solving complex problems
• Promote engineering standards throughout the department
• Lead departmental efforts for the ongoing enhancement of tools and processes
• Utilize established engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to fulfill engineering responsibilities
• Create plans, specifications, and observation reports
• Suggest enhancements to development criteria and design elements
• Strategically plan and achieve project objectives using experience and judgment
• Analyze civil design calculations for precision and adherence to standards
• Compile reports and communication regarding project direction and status
• Assess plans and specifications for feasibility, safety, and risk management
• Implement value engineering throughout the phases of development, design, and construction
• Work collaboratively with business and engineering teams across various markets and technical areas
• Engage with clients to comprehend technical requirements and identify viable solutions
• Assist in marketing, sales, and business development efforts
• Showcase creativity, innovative thinking, and ownership in design
• A B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent is mandatory
• Civil Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required
• NCEES Council Record is preferred
• A minimum of 8-10+ years of civil engineering experience is necessary
• At least 5+ years of experience in the design and development of utility-scale solar projects is preferred
• Required proficiency in large-scale solar grading design and earthwork calculations
• Experience in detailed design of solar facilities with intricate topographic, environmental, and non-participating infrastructure challenges is highly desired
• Preferred experience in stormwater management and permitting
• Experience in developing Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plans (SPCC) and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) is preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred
• Proven experience with Microsoft software applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
