This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Allocate engineers to client losses within the designated area and oversee quality control.

• Inspect losses and damage sites at both residential and commercial properties.

• Conduct investigations to assess and document the extent of damage.

• Provide guidance and leadership on intricate loss cases.

• Execute engineering strategies within the designated engineering team.

• Collaborate with investigators to generate comprehensive reports on the causes and origins of losses and damages.

• Act as an expert witness in court and/or during depositions.

• Record and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects.

• Work alongside EFI's national forensic expert team on various projects.

• Support the organization's quality assurance programs.

• Perform other assigned responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.

• A Professional Engineering (PE) license is mandatory in the resident state.

• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required.

• Experience in forensic engineering, structural damage assessment, and failure analysis.

• Proficiency in determining the causes of structural failures.

• Experience in assessing storm and roof damage.

• Experience in conducting building envelope investigations.

• Experience in evaluating structural collapses.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations.

• Proficiency with PCs, including Microsoft Office products.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Capability to meet or exceed performance competencies.

• Credit security clearance confirmed through a background credit check is required.

• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

• Capacity to kneel, squat, bend, stoop, crawl, climb, and work overhead.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, both hot and cold.

• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds.

• Capability to drive for up to 4 hours per day.

• Willingness to travel as required.
