This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee Sureel's business operations and manage the negotiation aspects with AI firms, DSPs, digital service providers, and rights holders.
• Report directly to the CEO and two Co-Presidents.
• Negotiate licensing agreements, revenue models, payment processes, and economic frameworks.
• Create business models and forecast charging outcomes for clients in the DSP and AI sectors.
• Establish commercially viable integrations of Sureel's infrastructure with AI companies and DSPs.
• Develop scalable licensing and economic frameworks that span across partners and markets.
• Organize multi-stakeholder commercial arrangements among rights holders and industry players.
• Collaborate with Client Relations on relationships with rights holders, managing commercial terms and deal economics.
• Coordinate with counterparts at Warner Music Group on commercial agreements, licensing structures, and strategic objectives.
• Provide market insights on emerging technologies, competitive landscape, licensing innovations, and deal dynamics.
• Represent Sureel in front of industry and standards organizations, such as DDEX and WIPO.
• Develop platform pricing and packaging options, encompassing enterprise, API, usage-based, transaction-fee, revenue-share, licensing-administration, analytics, and hybrid models.
• Establish repeatable commercial and licensing frameworks.
• Assist in structuring rights, permissions, guidelines, attribution, reporting, and economic responsibilities in commercial contracts.
• Manage confidential and proprietary information.
• Help influence industry standards and licensing frameworks for programmatic implementation.
• Extensive experience in structuring and negotiating commercial agreements within music, media, or technology, including licensing deals, platform integrations, revenue-share structures, or rights-technology transactions.
• Proven track record of managing the business side of negotiations with platforms, DSPs, technology firms, or rights holders, successfully navigating complex deals from term sheet to signature.
• Strong understanding of music-industry economics, encompassing rights revenue, licensing frameworks, and monetary flows between platforms, intermediaries, and rights holders.
• Proficiency in data analysis and financial details, including modeling revenue structures and validating assumptions.
• Capability to structure intricate deals for various stakeholders.
• Competence to represent leadership in high-stakes negotiations and make informed judgment calls on terms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of pricing, licensing structures, technical standards, and ecosystem incentives.
• Passion for the music industry and a willingness to thrive in a small, collaborative, startup environment.
• Direct experience negotiating with AI companies, DSPs, or other digital service providers (preferred).
• Background in working with artists, labels, publishers, or CMOs/PROs (preferred).
• Experience in deal structuring, licensing, business development, commercial strategy, or partnerships (preferred).
• Participation in industry licensing, standards, or policy initiatives (preferred).
• Experience working directly with C-level executives (preferred).
• Background in developing commercial models for infrastructure, APIs, marketplaces, payments, rights technology, or other platforms (preferred).
