Lead Business Analyst, Japanese Proficiency

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to foster data-driven decision making, optimize processes, and ensure successful analytics solution delivery.

• Lead workshops for requirements gathering and discovery sessions with procurement leaders, category managers, finance controllers, IT teams, and data owners.

• Analyze and document both current-state and future-state business processes.

• Propel continuous process improvement initiatives within the procurement department.

• Ensure alignment between business and technical stakeholders.

• Serve as the main point of contact between business users, project teams, and technical delivery teams.

• Convert business requirements into functional specifications for Power BI dashboards and analytics solutions.

• Define expectations for data models, calculation logic, KPIs, business rules, visualizations, user stories, and interaction requirements.

• Create and maintain BRDs, functional specifications, process maps, data mapping documents, and related project documentation.

• Evaluate solution designs for coherence with business objectives and requirements.

• Assist the Project Manager in project delivery, scope definition, effort estimation, dependency management, and milestone tracking.

• Monitor and manage issues, assumptions, risks, decisions, and dependencies related to requirements through RAID and Decision Logs.

• Share project plans, status updates, risks, and issues across governance forums and stakeholder groups.

• Organize and facilitate User Acceptance Testing, including test planning, defect management, and stakeholder approval.

• Aid in deployment and implementation efforts.

• Develop training materials, user guides, and knowledge-transfer documentation.

• Provide hypercare and post-go-live support.

• Mentor junior and mid-level business analysts.

• Advocate for business analysis best practices and drive ongoing improvements in processes, standards, and delivery frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst.

• At least 1 year of experience in a lead or senior business analysis role.

• Proven track record in delivering business intelligence, reporting, analytics, or dashboard projects.

• Demonstrated success in requirements gathering, business process analysis, and stakeholder management.

• Experience in producing BRDs, functional specifications, process documentation, and data mapping artifacts.

• Hands-on involvement in Power BI implementation projects, covering requirements definition, dashboard design, data model reviews, and UAT facilitation.

• Proficient in both written and spoken English.

• Proficient in both written and spoken Japanese, capable of facilitating business discussions and documentation in both languages.

• Strong understanding of Power BI, including data modeling, star schema concepts, DAX measures and calculations, Row-Level Security (RLS), incremental refresh, and best practices for dashboard/report design.

• Knowledge of Azure-based data platforms and contemporary analytics architectures.

• Familiarity with data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.

• Ability to grasp and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong skills in prioritization, organization, and time management.

• Capability to manage multiple stakeholders and conflicting priorities.

• Preferred: experience in spend analysis, spend classification, spend categorization, and procurement analytics.

• Preferred: familiarity with ERP and procurement platforms such as SAP MM, SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle Procurement, or similar solutions.

• Understanding of procurement data structures, including purchase orders, invoices, contracts, goods receipts, supplier master data, and material/service classifications.

• Knowledge of spend classification frameworks such as UNSPSC, eClass, and custom procurement taxonomies.

• Preferred: experience in supporting digital transformation, reporting modernization, or procurement optimization initiatives.
