Lead Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee Business Analysts across various program workstreams.

• Implement uniform requirements practices, documentation standards, and quality expectations.

• Evaluate requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, and other BA outputs.

• Manage BA workload while identifying dependencies, gaps in requirements, and areas needing further analysis.

• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders on intricate business processes and system requirements.

• Guide requirements gathering and convert business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, and supporting documentation.

• Analyze and document APIs, data flows, integrations, edge cases, business rules, and dependencies.

• Oversee and maintain Jira backlogs, including refinement, prioritization, traceability, and development readiness.

• Create and sustain functional, delivery, governance, and client-facing documentation in Confluence.

• Assist in governance, intake, review, and acceptance processes.

• Lead the definition and refinement of new features and functionalities.

• Collaborate with architects and developers on solution designs, integrations, system interfaces, and technical dependencies.

• Produce and interpret process flows, data mappings, interface definitions, reporting requirements, and functional specifications.

• Work together on wireframes, user flows, and prototypes.

• Facilitate requirements sessions, workshops, and cross-team collaboration.

• Support system demonstrations, incremental reviews, acceptance checkpoints, and related deliverables.

• Contribute to Agile delivery best practices and ongoing improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting application development, digital transformation, and/or system modernization initiatives.

• Proven experience as a Lead Business Analyst on a large, complex application development or modernization program involving multiple teams or workstreams.

• Background in leading, mentoring, and coordinating other Business Analysts.

• Extensive experience in facilitating requirements elicitation sessions with a diverse range of business and technical stakeholders.

• 5+ years of experience documenting requirements and specifications for web-based or enterprise systems.

• 5+ years of recent involvement in a mature Agile environment such as Scrum or Kanban.

• Capability to translate intricate business processes into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional requirements, and implementation-ready artifacts.

• Practical experience with Jira.

• Hands-on experience with Confluence or a similar collaboration platform.

• Understanding of software development lifecycles, requirements traceability, integration testing, and release validation.

• Excellent professional and technical writing skills.

• Strong verbal communication and facilitation abilities.

• Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work across multiple teams and workstreams.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Lawful Resident (Green Card Holder).

• Must live in and perform work within the United States.

• Capability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.

• Figma experience is highly desirable.

• Experience with legacy system modernization, APIs, system interfaces, and data integrations.

• Background in supporting governance, intake, and acceptance processes.

• Experience creating polished client-facing documentation.

• Experience translating business requirements into application experiences.

• Familiarity with Mural or similar collaborative tools.

• Experience in scoping and breaking down complex work for Agile execution.

• Experience managing requirements dependencies across teams.

• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent years of professional experience.

• Agile or Scrum certification is preferred.
