Lead Building Mechanical Engineering Manager – Water/Wastewater Industry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Lead a group of engineers focused on HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations for various building projects.

• Supervise the interpretation and implementation of mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes.

• Size ductwork, plumbing, and fire sprinkler distribution systems effectively.

• Select suitable mechanical, plumbing, and fire sprinkler equipment.

• Oversee drafting and modeling processes utilizing AutoCAD and Revit.

• Create HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler equipment specifications using Word and Speclink.

• Review drawings and specifications while coordinating with other engineering disciplines.

• Hold accountability for achieving unit objectives established by upper management.

• Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team.

• Manage workload planning, performance evaluation, and team operations.

• Adapt to and fulfill additional assignments as business requirements change.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in building mechanical engineering or a related field.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Strong leadership abilities in managing a team of individual contributors.

• Proficient in software tools for drafting, modeling, and developing specifications for HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems.

• Skilled in interpreting mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes along with NFPA standards.

• Exceptional coordination skills with other engineering disciplines.

• Typically certified in Brown and Caldwell's Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Framework, progressing through the SMS competencies.

• Must pass a pre-employment background check.

• Must complete a pre-employment drug test.
