This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering group to enhance the analytics platform.
• Broaden the platform’s influence and contribute to shaping the future of analytics for PlayStation titles.
• Engage in new game launches during the initial six months.
• Develop data models to facilitate efficient and uniform queries.
• Partner directly with game studios and data analysts to create and validate appropriate in-game telemetry.
• Assist in promoting the use of technologies like dbt and Airflow.
• Take ownership of data models for designated games.
• Work in tandem with members of the Game Analytics team and colleagues from game studios to ensure consistency and optimal performance.
• Proficient in writing SQL for analytics (OLAP) databases, ideally Redshift or similar platforms.
• Experience with implementing and utilizing data modeling tools such as dbt or SQLMesh.
• Ability to translate business needs into data model specifications and solutions.
• Enthusiasm for Big Data initiatives and technologies.
• Strong commitment to quality, along with an interest in developing repeatable, testable, and destructible test-driven database solutions.
• A degree in Computer Science is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Additional experience with Python, AWS Glue, version control (Git, Liquibase), and Airflow is beneficial.
• Familiarity with AAA game development and contemporary console games is a plus.
• A background in data or analytics engineering is preferred.
