This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Develop technical solutions that integrate data pipelines, models, and interfaces for end-users.
• Formulate engineering strategies for intricate analytics and AI functionalities.
• Proactively identify potential technical risks.
• Oversee code and design evaluations focused on architecture, structure, and testing criteria.
• Collaborate effectively with data scientists, AI engineers, and product management teams.
• Transform prototypes into systems that are ready for production.
• Guide junior engineers on system design, debugging techniques, and effective stakeholder communication.
• Take ownership of comprehensive analytical solution design, encompassing data contracts, feature stores, model endpoints, and client integrations.
• Make informed decisions regarding architecture and tools based on cost, risk assessment, and overall value.
• Assess emerging analytics and AI platforms and provide recommendations for adoption.
• Determine integration patterns and carry out proofs of concept.
• Evaluate when to build new solutions versus reusing existing ones, balancing the speed of experimentation with reliability.
• Align senior engineers, data scientists, and product stakeholders with business, product, and technical objectives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with approximately 8 years of relevant software development experience; alternatively, 6 years with a Master’s degree or 3 years with a PhD; equivalent experience is also acceptable.
• Proven experience in delivering complex software or data engineering projects that involve multiple teams.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and Git.
• Experience with production-level data pipelines.
• Practical knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir Foundry, or similar contemporary cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Experience in designing scalable data architectures.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and batch or streaming integration methodologies.
• Preferred: background in automotive, consumer insights, or analytics-driven SaaS.
• Preferred: experience mentoring engineers and conducting technical design reviews.
• Preferred: knowledge of PySpark or comparable distributed data processing frameworks.
• Preferred: experience with CI/CD, observability tools, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Preferred: familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud infrastructure.
• Preferred: experience with AI/ML models in analytics production scenarios.
• Preferred: skills in HTML/CSS and data visualization libraries.
• Ability to operate strategically and take hands-on actions with minimal oversight.
• Capable of clearly communicating technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
