Lead Accountant – Investment Accounting, Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Act as a subject matter expert in investment accounting and reporting.

• Ensure that proper controls are established and functioning effectively, and implement internal controls.

• Oversee tri-party reconciliations of investment positions with custodians and asset managers.

• Review and guarantee the prompt clearing of outstanding investment payables, receivables, and suspense transactions.

• Collaborate with internal investment and treasury teams.

• Liaise with third-party asset managers, custodians, and accounting service providers.

• Prepare account reconciliations.

• Record manual journal entries.

• Generate GAAP and statutory financial statements and disclosures.

• Share investment portfolio details with GE Aerospace, NALH senior management, and regulatory bodies.

• Address external and internal audit requests.

• Assist with other controllership activities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

• At least 2-3 years of experience in accounting.

• Background in the financial services sector and investments.

• Experience with custodian banks and/or treasury functions.

• Proficiency in financial systems and MS Office applications.

• Strong skills in problem identification and resolution.

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.

• Certified Public Accountant, experience in the insurance industry, and public accounting experience are preferred qualifications.
