This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Oversee and expand a portfolio of direct clients and distribution partners throughout North America.
• Direct the commercial strategy for designated accounts, encompassing pricing, negotiations, contracts, revenue growth, and market share enhancement.
• Enhance distributor performance via joint business planning, pipeline development, forecasting, market expansion, and customer engagement.
• Discover and cultivate new business opportunities within the Specialty Additives sectors, including coatings, inks, adhesives, plastics/PVC, asphalt, and related applications.
• Construct and manage the opportunity pipeline in Salesforce, guiding prospects from initial engagement through technical assessment, qualification, and commercialization.
• Establish and maintain robust relationships with customers and distributors while upholding strategic account plans, forecasts, and visibility into business risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Technical Service/R&D, Product Management, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and other departments to address customer requirements, new product launches, and problem resolution.
• Keep track of market trends, competitive actions, and customer requirements, conveying pertinent insights to bolster commercial and business strategies.
• Travel approximately 30–50% throughout North America.
• Report directly to the Director of Sales.
• A minimum of 5 years of B2B sales, account management, or business development experience in specialty chemicals, additives, polymers, or a similar industrial sector.
• Proven experience managing direct clients, distributor/channel partners, or a blend of both.
• Demonstrated capability to enhance revenue, develop new business opportunities, and foster strong, long-term customer relationships.
• Background in relevant markets such as coatings, inks, adhesives, plastics/PVC, asphalt, construction materials, or other specialty additive applications.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and account management expertise, including familiarity with pricing, forecasting, and customer agreements.
• Experience in managing sales pipelines and account activities using Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform.
• Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively across technical, commercial, and operational divisions.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in selling specialty additives, waxes, polymers, or formulated solutions is advantageous.
• Knowledge of customers, distributors, and market participants within CASE, plastics/PVC, asphalt, or related specialty chemical markets is desirable.
• Strong understanding of distributor/channel management and growth strategies through both direct and indirect sales approaches is beneficial.
• Technical aptitude with the ability to connect customer formulation or processing challenges to potential solutions is valued.
• Experience collaborating with technical teams through testing, qualification, and commercialization processes is advantageous.
• Strategic thinking, strong commercial judgment, and effective operation within a matrix organization are highly valued.
