This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
• Develop and validate Conventional Island layouts.
• Ensure that the layouts fulfill technical and programme requirements.
• Advance design packages through the gated Design Review process.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, assumptions, and constraints.
• Understand and manage risks related to Conventional Island installations.
• Make decisions that align with programme risk considerations.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Work with installation, layout, and CAD engineers to create module clusters.
• Maintain quality throughout the SMR lifecycle by participating in technical reviews and project review gates.
• Assist with configuration and data management.
• Utilize risk management, data-driven manufacturing, installation process improvement, and construction planning expertise to enhance design outcomes.
• Experience Level: 4-8 years of experience.
• Background in Plant Layout, Piping Layout, or general Layout in complex projects.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering installation design programmes within time, cost, and quality parameters.
• Experience in leading design solutions from concept to detailed definition using Robust Design methodologies, including DfX and trade-off studies.
• Strong logical problem-solving abilities and engineering judgement.
• Understanding of Systems Engineering.
• Proficiency in requirements management.
• Skills in stakeholder management.
• Experience with technical and programme risk management.
• Design knowledge for through-life operation, nuclear safety, fault scenarios, and EMIT.
• Familiarity with Gated Design Review processes.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Desirable: experience in nuclear, power generation, or other safety-critical sectors.
• Desirable: knowledge of ONR safety principles, INPO guidance, or similar regulatory frameworks.
• Must possess site clearance: BPSS.
• Role may necessitate security clearance or a willingness to obtain it.
• Completion of a Baseline Personnel Security Standard is required during onboarding.
