Law Firm Billing Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Chile, +6 more countries.

📋 Description

• Assist in enhancing the firm’s billing and collections processes continuously.

• Manage confidential information related to clients and the firm with professionalism and discretion.

• Engage with the firm’s team concerning outstanding billing issues.

• Create and uphold a consistent workflow for billing and collections.

• Ensure accurate tracking of trust account records and associated billing information.

• Address billing issues, payment disputes, and requests for payment arrangements as necessary.

• Provide responses to client inquiries about invoices, charges, and payment statuses.

• Follow up with clients regarding any unpaid or overdue invoices.

• Keep billing records updated and monitor outstanding invoices.

• Supervise billable work to ensure that completed tasks are captured and invoiced promptly.

• Utilize MyCase for preparing, issuing, and tracking invoices.

• Conduct collection calls and send reminders for payments.

• Generate and dispatch accurate client invoices at least bi-weekly.

• Identify pending billing tasks and ensure timely follow-up for their completion.

• Maintain current billing documentation and records.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in billing, accounts receivable, collections, or a related role is essential.

• Experience within a law firm or professional services setting is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with legal billing practices and trust accounts is preferred.

• Strong preference for experience using MyCase.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.

• Technologically adept and willing to learn new systems.

• Comfortable making outbound calls to follow up on unpaid or overdue invoices.

• Capable of working independently without the need for frequent supervision or reminders.

• Must be available to work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST/PDT.
