This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Engage in proactive outreach to landowners through various means, including cold calls, email marketing, in-person visits, referrals, local events, and other relationship-based channels.
• Establish trust with landowners and guide prospects from the initial contact to the execution of site control agreements.
• Conduct standard negotiations regarding leases, easements, options, and related site-control arrangements, adhering to company templates and criteria.
• Refer complex commercial, legal, title, or reputational issues to the Director of Real Estate and/or General Counsel.
• Present the company’s value proposition, detailing the solar and BESS development process, timelines, and partnership advantages.
• Collect and relay site and landowner information to evaluate the quality of opportunities.
• Evaluate property quality on-site or remotely in collaboration with development and interconnection teams.
• Independently identify and pursue opportunities through prospect lists, self-initiated outreach, and local relationship-building efforts.
• Provide landowner feedback and insights to enhance outreach strategies, messaging, and conversion rates.
• Maintain precise CRM records, documenting outreach activities, notes, next steps, and opportunity statuses.
• Consistently utilize company systems and tools to ensure visibility, coordination, and follow-through.
• Work closely with the Land Acquisition Strategy Manager and Land Acquisition Coordinator to monitor and advance opportunities.
• Travel extensively within designated regions and attend occasional evening or weekend meetings as required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in outside sales, business development, land acquisition, right-of-way, real estate, agriculture, or similar relationship-oriented roles.
• Demonstrated ability to build trust swiftly, generate opportunities, and drive conversations towards actionable outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the discernment and presence to engage effectively with landowners and local stakeholders.
• Comfortable negotiating within established commercial and legal parameters.
• Highly self-motivated, capable of working independently while effectively engaging with internal stakeholders.
• Strong follow-up skills and the ability to manage multiple active opportunities simultaneously.
• Proficient in using CRM systems, mobile tools, and other technologies to maintain organization in the field.
• Experience with Monday.com or similar platforms is advantageous.
• Background in solar, BESS, land acquisition, or rural landowner engagement is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Willingness to travel within assigned markets.
• Ability to work remotely while residing in the United States.
• Base salary starting at $55,000+
