This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Acquire land primarily for renewable feedstock initiatives and potentially for carbon-related projects.
• Identify and catalog appropriate land parcels in accordance with Living Carbon’s land criteria and assessment tools.
• Initiate communication with landowners to verify site suitability and create a pipeline of land opportunities.
• Develop and present project documentation and partnership proposals.
• Address inquiries from landowners, perform due diligence, advance negotiations, and finalize agreements.
• Travel as required to fulfill role objectives.
• Foster and sustain relationships with land advisors, regional experts, industry organizations, state agencies, extension programs, and landowner groups.
• Master and continually enhance the site qualification and landowner engagement processes.
• Compile feedback to refine landowner partnership proposals and project economics.
• Collaborate with forestry, finance, supply chain, legal, land agents, carbon scientists, GIS specialists, and commercial strategists.
• Engage with external partners and internal teams to develop mutually beneficial project opportunities.
• Over 5 years of experience in land management, land acquisition, agricultural leasing, business development, or sales, with a proven record of relevant achievements.
• Proven proficiency in outreach, relationship development, and advanced negotiation skills.
• Must reside within driving distance or be willing to relocate to the Midwest, Southeast, or US Appalachian Region.
• Ability to convey complex concepts, align stakeholders, receive feedback effectively, and iterate swiftly.
• Willingness and capability to travel several times per month, if necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in natural resource management, environmental science, agriculture, economics, or business.
• Experience in agriculture or forestry sectors, or farmland investment, planning, and management is a significant advantage.
• Existing relationships with landowners and/or land advisors are a considerable plus.
• Proficiency in mapping software, GIS data, and remote sensing is highly advantageous.
