
Kubernetes Platform Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Assist enterprise clients in designing, validating, and implementing VMware Kubernetes Service (vKS) solutions on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Work in collaboration with field account teams to ensure solution architecture aligns with customer priorities.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions, workshops, and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
• Team up with sales to create customer proposals aimed at addressing modernization objectives, workload placement, and operational transformation.
• Offer expert guidance on Kubernetes adoption, CI-CD integration, scalability, security, and disaster recovery.
• Develop and disseminate reference architectures, deployment patterns, and technical resources.
• Present technical information to architects and executive decision-makers.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and enterprise needs to effectively position vKS.
• Work jointly with product management and engineering to provide field insights and influence the product roadmap.
• Background in application engineering, consulting, or technical sales within enterprise IT, cloud, or application platforms.
• Extensive knowledge of containers and a leading Kubernetes distribution, such as EKS, AKS, RH OCP/OPP, or Rancher.
• Proficiency in VMware Cloud Foundation, including vSphere, vSAN, and NSX.
• 8–10+ years of experience in technology-related roles, focusing on enterprise IT architecture, application modernization, or cloud-native platforms.
• Proven track record of working directly with enterprise clients to deliver technical solutions and drive platform adoption.
• Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation capabilities.
• Strong ability to collaborate and work effectively with sales teams.
• Capability to identify challenges, design solutions, and communicate business value.
• Ability to succeed in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
• In-depth knowledge of VMware products and Kubernetes platforms.
• Proficiency in both German and English.
• Cloud-native or public-cloud certifications are highly desirable, including AWS, Azure, or Red Hat RHCA/RHCE on OpenShift.
• Experience in thought leadership is a bonus.
• Vertical or geographical specialization in Telco, FSI, and LATAM is advantageous.
