Kubernetes Platform Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Assist enterprise clients in the design, validation, and implementation of VMware Kubernetes Service (vKS) solutions on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

• Work in tandem with field account teams to ensure solution architecture aligns with client priorities.

• Facilitate technical discovery sessions, workshops, and proof-of-concepts.

• Collaborate with the sales team to create customer proposals that address modernization objectives, workload placement, and operational transformation.

• Offer insights on Kubernetes adoption, CI-CD integration, scalability, security, and disaster recovery.

• Develop and disseminate reference architectures, deployment strategies, and technical resources.

• Present technical information to architects and executive decision-makers.

• Keep track of industry trends, competitor products, and changing enterprise needs.

• Partner with product management and engineering to relay field feedback that shapes the product roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive technical knowledge with experience in application engineering, consulting, or technical sales within enterprise IT, cloud, or application platforms.

• Profound expertise in container technology and a leading Kubernetes distribution (EKS, AKS, RH OCP/OPP, Rancher).

• Strong familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation, including vSphere, vSAN, and NSX.

• 8–10+ years in technology-related positions, with a focus on enterprise IT architecture, application modernization, or cloud-native platforms.

• Proven track record of working directly with enterprise clients to deliver technical solutions and promote platform adoption.

• Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation abilities.

• Strong teamwork skills and capability to work alongside sales teams.

• Demonstrated ability to identify problems, design solutions, and communicate value in business terms.

• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

• Extensive knowledge of VMware products and Kubernetes platforms.

• Certifications in cloud-native or public cloud technologies are highly desirable.
