
Key Account Manager, Institutional Sales – Carolinas

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Oversee territories that encompass North and South Carolina
• Manage a diverse portfolio of Generic Injectables along with select brands across all North American operations
• Analyze sales data pertaining to a portfolio exceeding 180 Injectable NDCs
• Handle customer positioning and pricing strategies across GPOs, alternative contracts, back-up contracts, and IDNs
• Ensure adherence to GPO awards and strategically position back-up contracts to market the Viatris product portfolio
• Track competitive awards, market positioning, contracts, sales strategies, pull-through rates, and RFP processes
• Monitor market supply situations and relay any shortages to customers and the supply chain
• Assist customers with drop shipments when necessary
• Collaborate with Buyers, Customer Relations, and National Account Managers to guarantee appropriate hospital inventory levels
• Verify accurate pricing uploads and validate contract eligibility
• Work in partnership with sales teams, leadership, and pricing departments
• Attend conferences, advisory boards, and participate in weekly Friday Sales Calls
• Build and sustain customer relationships while advocating for contract compliance and the use of Viatris products
• Execute customer call cycles and conduct account evaluations
• Maintain detailed customer account profiles, client tracking data, and contract documentation
• Analyze sales metrics and territory data; interpret results and derive conclusions
• Keep tabs on competitor activities and pricing, reporting the insights gathered
• Complete necessary documentation and laptop-related tasks
• Manage corporate assets and travel budgets
• Undertake additional assigned responsibilities
• A bachelor’s degree is mandatory
• Minimum of three years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry or medical sales is required
• Experience in institutional or hospital sales is preferred
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical or medical sales processes and protocols
• Understanding of human physiology and biology is essential
• Basic knowledge of the pharmaceutical/medical distribution process
• Willingness to travel up to 50% by vehicle and airplane
• Capability to lift and carry personal items/laptop/miscellaneous weight (minimum of 30 pounds)
• Proficiency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing in English is required
• Must adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and Viatris policies and procedures
