This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee, maintain, and expand BESA contractor membership within the designated geographical area.
• Establish and nurture relationships with owners, directors, commercial leads, technical leads, operations leads, and compliance contacts.
• Gain a deep understanding of members’ businesses, their priorities, challenges, and utilization of BESA support services.
• Recognize retention risks and proactively address issues before they affect membership renewals.
• Ensure that members are aware of and can access BESA support, engagement activities, certificate schemes, and additional services.
• Seek out and cultivate new contractor membership opportunities.
• Foster regional growth through Member Pledge, referrals, supply chain opportunities, outreach to former members, event leads, and warm introductions.
• Monitor opportunities, account information, and actions using iMIS.
• Identify and assist in establishing suitable Member Pledge relationships.
• Collaborate with Membership Operations on supply chain lists and transition appropriate contractors into full membership.
• Represent BESA at member meetings, events, sector gatherings, and engagement activities.
• Advocate for BESA as the premier trade body for contractors in building engineering services.
• Discover opportunities for member stories, case studies, and insights.
• Report on member challenges, retention risks, market trends, and growth opportunities internally.
• Execute account plans, provide monthly RAG reports, identify new membership opportunities, foster Member Pledge relationships, promote supply chain growth, maintain accurate iMIS records, and deliver weekly/monthly reporting.
• Candidates must reside in Wales and have a strong connection to the country.
• Proven experience in account management, key account management, membership engagement, or business development.
• Exceptional relationship management skills.
• Capability to manage a portfolio of accounts effectively.
• Proficiency in identifying retention risks and growth opportunities.
• Strong communication skills and diligent follow-up practices.
• Commercial awareness is essential.
• Familiarity with CRM or membership management systems.
• Ability to work independently across a designated region or account base.
• Collaborative mindset for working with internal teams.
• Knowledge of building engineering services, M&E, HVAC, FM, or construction supply chains is desirable.
• Experience within a membership body, trade association, or compliance-focused environment is preferred.
• Understanding of competence, technical standards, procurement, or contractor assurance is advantageous.
• Background in supporting member retention, account growth, or regional engagement is a plus.
• Experience in supply chain-led growth or referral-driven sales is desirable.
• Comprehensive BESA business support including areas such as Technical, Employment, Health and Safety, Legal & Commercial, and Training & Skills.
• Engagement activities that encompass Region & Nation meetings, Specialist Group and Committee meetings, and Business Networking Events.
• Additional Certificate Schemes and Benefits, including REFCOM, VHR, SFG20, Welplan, and broader BESA Group services where applicable.
