Junior Systems Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct incident triage and identify root causes for application and system issues reported by FMCSA stakeholders.

• Ensure prompt fulfillment of service requests.

• Oversee and enhance AWS cloud resources.

• Collaborate with federal and state clients, developers, and IT teams.

• Customize and oversee alerts for application and system availability and performance utilizing WhatsUp Gold and AWS Synthetic Canaries.

• Maintain current resource attributes within the AWS inventory.

• Leverage AWS services to identify opportunities for process and system enhancements.

• Implement software patches or configuration modifications to resolve security issues on Windows or Linux servers and systems.

• Execute or coordinate storage clean-up initiatives on servers.

• Deploy releases in both non-production and production environments.

• Address tier 2 and tier 3 tickets, including system and application-level outages, with necessary support.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of IT experience with an associate degree, or 5 years or more of IT experience without a degree.

• US Citizenship is required.

• Must possess an active Public Trust clearance.

• Capability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check, which includes Criminal History, Education Verification, Professional Certification Verification, Previous Employment Verification, and Credit History.

• Fingerprinting is necessary for the Public Trust background investigation.

• Fundamental knowledge of querying databases.

• Basic comprehension of site certificates/renewals and CSR creations.

• Over 2 years of experience with AWS CloudWatch.

• More than 2 years of experience in Windows and/or Linux environments.

• Familiarity with network infrastructures, firewalls, and load balancers.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and adaptable environment.

• Experience with IT Service Management tools, such as ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, etc.
