Junior SQL Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production settings.

• Conduct routine database administration tasks within Microsoft SQL Server, including performing backups, restorations, integrity assessments, and index upkeep.

• Assist in the provisioning, configuration, and patch management of Microsoft SQL Server databases.

• Monitor the performance of Microsoft SQL Server databases and identify any bottlenecks or opportunities for optimization.

• Resolve connectivity and performance issues related to Microsoft SQL Server databases.

• Aid in the upgrades, migrations, and deployments of Microsoft SQL Server.

• Ensure the security of Microsoft SQL Server databases by managing permissions and role-based access controls.

• Support the administration and monitoring of Oracle Database environments.

• Assist with Oracle backup and recovery operations utilizing RMAN.

• Help oversee the health, performance, and storage usage of Oracle databases.

• Participate in Oracle patching and upgrade initiatives.

• Support the management of Oracle user accounts and security administration.

• Collaborate closely with the IT Director, application teams, and systems engineers to ensure database performance, availability, security, and dependability.

• Complete other assigned tasks as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with SQL Server databases.

• Fundamental understanding of relational database principles and database architecture.

• Familiarity with Oracle databases.

• Basic knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
