Junior Power BI Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain Power BI dashboards and reports that convey metrics and insights across training and workforce datasets.

• Generate user-friendly data visualizations using Power BI, employing best practices for layout, labeling, and user experience.

• Develop basic DAX calculations and measures.

• Utilize established semantic models and data structures, implementing filtering, relationships, and visual-level transformations.

• Implement standardized Power BI report templates, visual design standards, and branding guidelines.

• Organize and maintain Power BI workspaces, which includes publishing updates, version control, documentation, and basic access management.

• Document dashboards and reports, detailing their purpose, target audience, data sources, refresh schedules, and change history.

• Assist in ensuring dashboards comply with Section 508 accessibility standards.

• Aid in paginated report development, covering layout configurations, dataset connections, and parameter setups.

• Engage in stakeholder requirements discussions and convert reporting needs into technical specifications.

• Perform quality checks and validate data visualizations.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), which entails testing visual elements, logging defects, and confirming resolutions.

• Offer ad hoc reporting assistance through rapid visualizations or summaries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in data analytics, information systems, computer science, or a related discipline.

• 1–3 years of experience utilizing Power BI, encompassing dashboard development and fundamental data modeling concepts.

• Basic knowledge of DAX and Power Query.

• Comprehension of data visualization best practices and effective communication of analytical insights.

• Capacity to learn and implement federal data governance, reporting standards, and accessibility requirements.

• Keen attention to detail and a dedication to producing high-quality analytical deliverables.

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or semantic data models.

• Acquaintance with Section 508/WCAG accessibility guidelines.

• Experience in supporting user testing, quality assurance, or iterative updates to dashboards.

• Exposure to large datasets or enterprise reporting settings.

• Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Teams, SharePoint, and Power Platform.
