Junior Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Manage the daily legal queue effectively.

• Draft, review, and negotiate non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and standard commercial contracts, including partnership agreements, amendments, renewals, order forms, statements of work (SOWs), and subscriptions.

• Address legal and contractual inquiries from HR, Finance, Marketing, Procurement, IT, and various business units.

• Handle standard vendor engagements and create Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) using established playbooks.

• Manage data subject access requests and other rights requests pertaining to data subjects.

• Review vendor DPAs and standard clauses, conducting transfer and one-time assessments as needed.

• Maintain privacy documentation, including the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA).

• Prepare standard employment documents and respond to routine HR inquiries.

• Assist with corporate housekeeping tasks and prepare corporate documents for senior-level review.

• Review marketing materials and content for claims, disclaimers, and third-party intellectual property.

• Provide preliminary legal responses and conduct research for non-lawyers, resolving straightforward matters and escalating complex issues as needed.

• Maintain records for contracts, trackers, the Power of Attorney (PoA) register, template library, Jira, Zip, and Google Drive.

• Develop and maintain templates, playbooks, and frequently asked questions (FAQs).

• Report directly to the Head of Corporate Legal Affairs while collaborating with a small senior legal team.


⛳️ Requirements

• A law degree from a recognized institution (LL.B., LL.M., or local equivalent).

• 0–3 years of relevant experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or regulatory body; substantial trainee and internship experiences are considered.

• Proven exposure to corporate or commercial contracting, employment law, data protection and GDPR, or intellectual property.

• Proficient in professional English, both written and spoken.

• Highly organized with the ability to manage a high-volume legal queue.

• Capable of independently framing ambiguous legal questions.

• Possess a pragmatic and commercial mindset.

• Willingness to manage high-volume standard work during the initial 12–18 months.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide and accept feedback.

• Bar admission is preferred but not mandatory.
