Junior Health Python Programmer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, test, and uphold clean, efficient, and scalable Python code for software projects related to health.

• Create backend services, APIs, and integrate with healthcare platforms like EHR/EMR systems.

• Work alongside senior developers and team members to identify and resolve code issues.

• Enhance and optimize database interactions using Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.

• Formulate queries to ensure accurate data manipulation, retrieval, and storage.

• Conduct data validation to maintain data integrity and consistency.

• Contribute to the design and development of RESTful APIs for data exchange in healthcare systems.

• Carry out unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews.

• Develop test automation scripts to ensure application reliability and performance.

• Identify and resolve issues, fixing bugs in both development and production environments.

• Collaborate with product managers, senior engineers, and quality assurance teams.

• Create documentation for code, workflows, and best practices.

• Keep informed about advancements in Python programming and healthcare IT tools and methodologies.

• Pursue feedback and mentorship to enhance technical skills and coding methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related area.

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Python programming.

• Proficient in Python, with experience in libraries such as PySpark, Pandas, NumPy, Polars, or equivalent frameworks.

• Basic knowledge of database management and query execution using SQL and/or NoSQL databases like Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

• Experience with Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum), JIRA, and other tools for Sprint planning and tracking changes and testing.

• Background in writing and executing unit and integration tests.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to function effectively in a team setting and collaborate across various disciplines.

• Eagerness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and healthcare compliance standards.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and succinctly.

• Preferred: experience in federal consulting.

• Preferred: experience with healthcare data projects or financial/banking systems.

• Preferred: understanding of HIPAA compliance challenges.

• Preferred: knowledge of Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
