Backend Developer, Java/Kotlin – Specialist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical lead for the architecture, development, and advancement of highly available microservices with high transaction volumes.

• Provide technical leadership in creating scalable, resilient, and secure solutions for Grupo Boticário’s digital platform.

• Design and enhance decoupled microservices utilizing Java and Kotlin.

• Advocate for design patterns, Clean Architecture, and SOLID principles.

• Ensure comprehensive coverage of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Implement observability, fault-handling, and outage-tolerant system strategies.

• Serve as a technical authority, perform code reviews, and disseminate best practices.

• Optimize applications and database queries during peak demand periods.

• Design and execute data pipelines and distributed messaging systems.

• Identify and address critical technical debt.

• Guarantee CI/CD automation for secure continuous deployment in a cloud environment.

• Facilitate technical discussions with Product and Design teams.

• Proactively monitor and manage production incidents, ensuring compliance with SLAs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Java (modern versions) or Kotlin.

• Extensive experience with the Spring / Spring Boot ecosystem.

• Practical experience with microservices architecture.

• Skilled in consuming and creating REST APIs.

• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, SOLID principles, and design patterns.

• Hands-on knowledge of event-driven architectures, particularly using Apache Kafka.

• Experience with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (NoSQL).

• Familiarity with unit and integration testing.

• Strong focus on performance, security, and conducting code reviews.

• Experience with CI/CD, Git, monitoring, production logging, and troubleshooting/root-cause analysis.

• Strong commitment to quality, along with skills in abstraction, mentoring, team collaboration, and adaptability.
