This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Review and refine articles prior to their publication.
• Correct grammar, spelling, structure, and readability concerns.
• Verify names, dates, statistics, and critical assertions for accuracy.
• Enhance content for SEO and boost reader engagement.
• Revise headlines, formatting, and article structure as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with Military.com’s editorial guidelines.
• Identify inaccuracies or issues before the content is published.
• Manage a consistent volume of articles and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Prior experience in editing, proofreading, journalism, or digital publishing.
• Strong command of written English.
• Outstanding attention to detail.
• Proficient fact-checking abilities.
• Capacity to work quickly while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Dependable, organized, and capable of working independently.
• Basic knowledge of SEO and digital content practices.
• Availability to work within Pacific or Mountain Time Zones.
• Experience with military or veteran-related content (preferred).
• Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems (preferred).
• Background in SEO or Google Analytics (preferred).
• Experience in high-volume freelance editing (preferred).
• Basic skills in image editing (preferred).
