Junior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Contribute to backend services, data pipelines, and machine learning pipelines that support products utilized by commercial insurance underwriters.

• Develop and enhance systems that collect, process, and analyze large amounts of structured and unstructured data.

• Engage with documents, third-party sources, and model outputs.

• Take ownership of features from inception to completion.

• Collaborate with full-stack, backend, machine learning, and platform engineers.

• Participate in the design, construction, testing, and operation of production systems at scale.

⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 1 year of professional experience in software engineering focused on building and deploying production systems.

• Strong foundational knowledge in at least one programming language.

• Proficiency in Python.

• A degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• A keen interest in artificial intelligence, data, and the practical applications of machine learning.

• Capability to take ownership and navigate through ambiguity.

• Ability to work swiftly, learn rapidly, and uphold high standards.
