IT Infrastructure Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Develop infrastructure architecture designs that encompass compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and backup solutions.

• Perform audits on current infrastructure and create transformation roadmaps.

• Establish hybrid architectures and interconnection strategies with public cloud platforms.

• Create business continuity and disaster recovery plans (BCP/DRP) and validate these through testing.

• Offer technical guidance on migration, consolidation, and data center redesign initiatives.

• Set standards for industrialization and automation, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management practices.

• Maintain alignment between infrastructure decisions and security mandates.

• Assist in the technical preparation of responses to requests for proposals (RFPs), covering design, technical justification, sizing, and cost estimation.

• Present and advocate for proposals in client presentations.

• Aid in the technical assessment of requirements and the formulation of proposed transformation roadmaps.

• Develop and enhance packaged infrastructure offerings.

• Create accelerators such as architecture repositories, decision matrices, sizing models, and audit toolkits.

• Support the structuring of the Infrastructure practice and document lessons learned.

• Facilitate the technical community within the practice.

• Engage in technical recruitment interviews and candidate assessment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree, engineering degree, or an equivalent qualification, along with relevant professional experience.

• A minimum of 8 years of infrastructure experience, including at least 3 years in an architectural role.

• Expertise in VMware vSphere and a willingness to explore alternatives such as Proxmox, Nutanix, and Hyper-V.

• Proficient in Linux (RHEL, Debian), Windows Server, and Active Directory.

• Familiarity with SAN/NAS, backup, and replication solutions.

• Experience with routing, switching, segmentation, load balancing, and firewalling technologies.

• Skilled in Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, and Python.

• Knowledgeable in Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.

• Understanding of IaaS models and cloud interconnection frameworks.

• Strong knowledge of security requirements, including hardening, segmentation, and privileged access management.

• Ability to maintain a high-level perspective while staying connected to operational realities.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills, able to convey complex topics clearly.

• Initiative and expertise in helping to structure and grow a practice.

• Attention to detail and a strong awareness of risk management.

• VMware VCP, Red Hat RHCE, Cisco CCNP, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.

• A cloud certification at the associate level or higher is a plus.
