IT Functional Engineer – Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for the functional design and architecture of D365 Finance modules along with integrated third-party applications encompassing GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting, Budgeting, US/Foreign Banking, and FX.

• Oversee and enhance solutions within a multi-entity framework.

• Convert requirements into scalable configurations and adaptable solution designs.

• Establish D365 Finance design standards, governance, and best practices.

• Conduct fit-to-standard analyses using a configuration-over-customization approach.

• Configure financial applications, which include ledger structures, posting profiles, workflows, and financial dimensions.

• Design, develop, validate, and deploy extensions, integrations, and APIs.

• Support data models, financial reporting structures, and analytics data flows.

• Implement AI-driven automation for processes such as invoice processing, reconciliations, and anomaly detection.

• Utilize Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, and Azure AI services.

• Create intelligent workflows and decision-support functionalities.

• Assist with predictive analytics, real-time finance insights, data architecture, and master data governance.

• Ensure data integrity and uphold financial controls across systems.

• Own the strategy for unit, integration, and regression testing.

• Validate solutions to meet compliance, audit, and regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with DevOps teams on release pipelines and deployment preparation.

• Enhance financial processes and optimize system performance.

• Monitor system utilization and propose enhancements.

• Advise leadership on the Microsoft roadmap, D365 updates, and new finance technologies.

• Serve as an escalation point for complex financial system challenges and conduct root cause analyses.

• Work in partnership with support teams, maintain functional and technical documentation, and undertake additional responsibilities as needed.

• Adhere to safety policies, complete necessary safety training, and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology.

• Over 5 years of experience with Dynamics 365 Finance or AX2012 finance modules.

• Demonstrated experience in end-to-end implementations or significant system transformations.

• Strong expertise in O2C, P2P, R2R, accounting principles, and controls.

• Knowledge of financial integration patterns, including APIs, OData, SFTP, JSON/XML, BAI2, CAMT, and ISO20022.

• Experience collaborating with consulting firms, outsourcing, co-development, testing, and validation.

• Background in manufacturing or process industries is preferred.

• Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365 Finance are a plus.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
