This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Provide daily leadership and guidance for the IT department, encompassing infrastructure, systems administration, networking, service desk, and software development.

• Set priorities, delegate responsibilities, track progress, and ensure projects and operational tasks are completed on schedule.

• Create and uphold IT policies, procedures, standards, documentation, and escalation protocols.

• Implement coverage, cross-training, and succession planning to mitigate single points of failure.

• Oversee IT vendors, consultants, service providers, contracts, and technology-related partnerships.

• Collaborate with firm leadership and departmental stakeholders to determine technology requirements and convert them into actionable solutions.

• Supervise Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Active Directory, Azure, VMware, servers, storage, backups, data center operations, and multi-office infrastructure.

• Drive infrastructure modernization and cloud migration initiatives.

• Ensure backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience are maintained.

• Manage network architecture and operations, including firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, connectivity, and remote access.

• Oversee the life cycles of technology assets.

• Direct the cybersecurity program, which includes security controls, vulnerability management, patching, endpoint protection, access controls, monitoring, incident response, and remediation.

• Coordinate security evaluations, penetration testing, cybersecurity insurance requirements, and third-party security audits.

• Guarantee responsive and consistent IT support across firm offices and for remote employees.

• Establish and supervise service desk standards, escalation protocols, and performance expectations.

• Enhance endpoint management, software deployment, patching, imaging, and device lifecycle processes.

• Develop and maintain an IT roadmap that aligns with operational and strategic goals.

• Lead significant technology initiatives from planning to implementation and stabilization.

• Assess technologies and recommend solutions based on business value, security, reliability, cost, and supportability.

• Establish project management practices with clearly defined scopes, ownership, timelines, dependencies, risks, and status reporting.

• Collaborate with firm leadership on modernization, automation, AI initiatives, application integrations, and process enhancements.

• Identify opportunities for automation, AI, RPA, integrations, and emerging technologies.

• Work alongside business leaders and software development teams to implement scalable technology-enabled process improvements.

• Manage, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary IT team.

• Define roles, responsibilities, performance expectations, and accountability within the team.

• Conduct team and individual meetings, provide feedback, and facilitate professional growth.

• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across technology functions.

• Build redundancy and cross-training for the continuity of essential IT operations.

• Report to the Director of Administration.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in information technology, with substantial responsibilities in infrastructure and IT operations.

• More than 5 years of experience in IT management or leadership roles.

• Strong technical expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID/Active Directory, Windows Server, VMware, networking, endpoint management, backup/disaster recovery, and cybersecurity.

• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure in a multi-office environment.

• Experience leading technical teams and overseeing employees across various IT disciplines.

• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, controls, incident response, and risk management.

• Proven capability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing demands while ensuring reliable daily operations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical issues to non-technical leadership.

• A Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (preferred).

• Experience in an accounting firm or other professional services organization (preferred).

• Experience supporting environments with significant confidentiality, security, and regulatory needs (preferred).

• Experience with cloud migration and infrastructure modernization (preferred).

• Experience in developing or enhancing disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities (preferred).

• Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, Microsoft, VMware, or comparable credentials (preferred).

• Experience managing geographically distributed and/or remote technical teams (preferred).

• Demonstrated interest and experience in evaluating or implementing emerging technologies, including AI, workflow automation, RPA, APIs/integrations, and related productivity technologies (preferred).
