This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the management of internal off-site meetings for Amgen’s U.S. Commercial division.
• Organize and implement national meetings, POAs, launch and brand planning sessions, leadership summits, functional gatherings, training programs, and various internal events.
• Supervise the complete meeting strategy, execution, budgeting, risk management, and vendor collaborations.
• Ensure that programs are in line with Amgen’s priorities, compliance standards, and GMM processes.
• Foster consistency, resource optimization, technology integration, and ongoing improvements within the internal meetings portfolio.
• Act as a reliable advisor on meeting policies, planning, and best practices.
• Manage outsourced suppliers and monitor supplier performance.
• Develop partnerships with business leaders and meeting sponsors.
• Assist in change management, process enhancements, and technology integration initiatives.
• Utilize CVENT and data insights for budgeting, reporting, compliance, and planning optimization.
• Oversee resource planning, forecasting, and budget management.
• Ensure consistent branding, documentation, audit readiness, and compliance with the Global Meetings Policy.
• Identify and execute efficiencies through automation, process simplification, and digital solutions.
• Report to the GMM Sr. Manager for the U.S. Region as an individual contributor without direct reports.
• Doctorate degree; or Master’s degree with 2 years of corporate event management experience; or Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of corporate event management experience; or Associate’s degree with 8 years of corporate event management experience; or High school diploma/GED with 10 years of corporate event management experience.
• Experience in corporate event management, preferably within life sciences or highly regulated sectors.
• A minimum of 7 years of corporate event management experience is preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in planning large, complex meetings and events is preferred.
• Experience in supporting internal commercial or sales meetings.
• Strong skills in vendor management, budgeting, and negotiation.
• Proficiency in CVENT and hybrid/virtual meeting technologies.
• Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30%-40% of the time.
