Internal Communications Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Manage media relations by establishing and nurturing connections with journalists while identifying proactive media opportunities.

• Compose and disseminate press releases, assisting in executive thought leadership content and interviews.

• Organize, author, and circulate internal communications, which include executive updates, newsletters, and leadership messaging.

• Collaborate with HR and business leaders to synchronize internal communications concerning key company initiatives, onboarding, and employee engagement.

• Enhance the usage and involvement of internal communications platforms, such as Viva Engage.

• Provide support for crisis and issues communications as necessary.

• Oversee the planning, creation, and distribution of social media content, while monitoring brand sentiment across various channels.

• Monitor and report on media placements as well as internal communications engagement metrics.

• Work alongside Creative Marketing and Digital Marketing Specialists to ensure uniform messaging and branding across all communication channels.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or internal communications, preferably within the financial services, insurance, or a related B2B sector.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and client-facing communication abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Capability to adhere to policies and procedures.

• Self-driven with a keen eye for detail.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

• Ability to remain stationary for up to 75% of the workday to perform tasks in a remote home-office environment.
