Internal Communications Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Take charge of media relations by establishing and nurturing connections with journalists while identifying proactive media opportunities.

• Compose and circulate press releases.

• Assist in creating executive thought leadership content and facilitate interviews.

• Organize, draft, and disseminate internal communications, encompassing executive updates, newsletters, and leadership messaging.

• Collaborate with HR and business leaders to synchronize internal communications on vital company initiatives, onboarding processes, and employee engagement efforts.

• Promote the adoption and engagement of internal communications platforms like Viva Engage.

• Provide support for crisis and issues communications as necessary.

• Oversee the planning, creation, and distribution of social media content.

• Monitor brand sentiment across various channels.

• Track and analyze media placements and metrics pertaining to internal communications engagement.

• Work in conjunction with the Creative Marketing Specialist and Digital Marketing Specialist to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communications channels.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or internal communications.

• Experience is preferred within financial services, insurance, or a related B2B sector.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Capability to adhere to policies and procedures.

• Self-driven with a keen attention to detail.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

• Ability to remain stationary for up to 75% of the workday in a remote, home-office environment.
