Intermodal Dispatcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee and organize the activities of 10–15 intermodal drivers during overnight shifts.

• Assist drivers completing their shifts as well as those beginning their workday.

• Manage driver schedules, container pickups, deliveries, and reload opportunities.

• Monitor shipments and containers, track driver progress, and update shipment statuses in the TMS.

• Keep an eye on operational emails and take prompt actions to avert delays.

• Escalate urgent issues and provide updates to the daytime team.

• Review and address customer inquiries and communicate updates regarding shipments.

• Arrange appointments and coordinate pickup and delivery logistics.

• Input work orders and shipment information into company systems.

• Scan and upload documents, maintain records, and update Excel tracking sheets and operational reports.

• Follow up on outstanding requests.

• Track containers via rail carrier websites to confirm availability and release statuses.

• Handle rail billing and process payments for rail lift and storage.

• Manage notifications for container pickups, exports, empty container releases, depot release requests, and street turn requests.

• Collaborate with customers, terminals, depots, warehouses, and rail service providers.

• Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, coordinate reloads, minimize empty miles and driver downtime, and enhance profitability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in US freight dispatch, particularly with intermodal operations.

• Strong knowledge of container transportation and dispatch processes.

• Experience in US trucking operations.

• Exceptional multitasking and prioritization abilities.

• Strong problem-solving aptitude.

• Capability to remain composed under pressure and make swift decisions.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Comfortable working independently during overnight hours.

• Proficient computer skills and willingness to learn multiple software systems.

• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is highly desirable.

• Good command of Microsoft Excel.

• Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8 AM–5 PM CST.
