This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Oversee and coordinate electrical design, drafting, material procurement, construction, and commissioning for various projects.
β’ Generate technical documents such as electrical drawings, single line diagrams (SLDs), three-line diagrams, equipment and site layouts, cable and conduit schedules, electrical databases, technical specifications, and contract documents.
β’ Execute and validate electrical design calculations.
β’ Conduct power systems analyses, including arc flash assessments, utilizing ETAP and SKM software.
β’ Operate under the guidance and review of senior engineering personnel regarding reports, studies, drawings, and design document evaluations.
β’ Undertake technical tasks on assignments of limited scope and additional duties as instructed by senior engineering staff.
β’ Utilize standard engineering principles and techniques to address challenges.
β’ Adhere to Spark Power and client safety protocols and procedures.
β’ Deliver customer service to utility and industrial clients.
β’ Offer field support to construction management and site teams as necessary.
β’ Make project-related decisions based on defined guidelines.
β’ Provide insights and technical recommendations to senior engineering personnel.
β’ Collaborate with the internal drafting team.
β’ Work alongside team members to successfully complete projects.
β’ Lead and coordinate activities with the internal drafting team.
β’ Graduate from an accredited Electrical Engineering program.
β’ Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA.
β’ Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
β’ Familiarity with international standards is a plus.
β’ Proficient in ETAP or similar software.
β’ Experience in designing 120/208VAC, 480VAC, and 600VAC systems.
β’ Experience in designing medium-voltage systems (4.16kV to 25kV).
β’ Experience in designing high-voltage systems (138kV to 240kV).
β’ 4β8 years of experience in utilities, processing, power generation, or mining.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in utilities, processing, power generation, or mining.
β’ Must have legal authorization to work in Canada.
β’ Ability to work collaboratively with individuals of varied backgrounds.
β’ Completion of medical prerequisites to access specific client sites.
β’ Possession of a Class 5 driverβs license with a clean driving record.
β’ Quick learner with a strong capacity for acquiring new skills.
