Electrical Engineer II – Fire Alarm Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create fire alarm systems tailored for hyperscale data centers and other critical facilities

• Collaborate with senior design professionals to enhance fire alarm system design capabilities

• Generate construction documents related to electrical engineering and fire alarm systems

• Design air-sampling smoke detection systems, including VESDA technology

• Develop and revise project specifications

• Carry out engineering tasks, including fire alarm design work, computations, and system analysis

• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create drawings and coordinate with other engineering disciplines

• Specify components of fire alarm systems to safeguard mission-critical environments

• Assess existing building conditions and compile technical reports

• Gather data and create project design and construction documentation

• Support pre-construction tasks and writing of specifications

• Review shop drawings and submissions

• Analyze and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs)

• Complete punch lists and project closure documentation

• Prepare project progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders

• Update and manage shop drawing and RFI logs

• Track personal hours using company-provided tools

• Utilize AI and digital tools to enhance efficiency and workflows

• Complete assigned tasks and deliverables within specified timelines and budgets

• May take on the role of trade lead for routine projects of limited scope

• Maintain close interaction with the Project Management Team and communicate with clients

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program

• Strong understanding of engineering principles

• At least three years of experience in electrical engineering or fire alarm design

• Knowledge of building electrical systems, basic circuit design, and life safety systems

• Familiarity with NFPA 72, National Electric Code, Life Safety Code, and relevant Building Codes

• Intermediate level of proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams

• Capability to conduct fire alarm code analysis, equipment selection, and wiring design

• Ability to utilize AI and new technologies effectively

• Experience working successfully in a remote work environment

• Commitment to adhering to company and site safety protocols

• Skill in analyzing and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence

• Strong oral and written communication abilities

• Capability to communicate directly with clients

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with moderate supervision

• Capacity to operate effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Willingness to travel approximately 10% to client sites and for other business activities across the United States
