This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct intermediate to advanced electrical engineering tasks as assigned.
• Undertake lighting design activities under the guidance of a senior engineer.
• Execute computations and analyses for lighting systems.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create drawings, calculations, and visual aids.
• Specify lighting fixtures and their associated controls.
• Assess existing building conditions and compile technical reports.
• Gather data for construction documentation.
• Develop project design and construction documents.
• Edit and compose project specifications.
• Review shop drawings and submittals.
• Evaluate and respond to RFIs.
• Complete punch lists and prepare project closeout documents.
• Generate project progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Update and maintain shop drawing and RFI logs.
• Track personal hours using company tools.
• Collaborate with senior design staff, the Engineering Team, and Project Management Team.
• Utilize AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency and quality of work.
• Fulfill assigned tasks and deliverables within deadlines and budget constraints.
• Act as trade lead on routine, limited-scope projects when applicable.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles.
• At least three years of experience in electrical engineering or lighting design.
• Familiarity with building electrical systems, including basic circuiting, lighting and lighting controls, and life safety systems.
• Knowledge of IES Standards, National Electric Code, Life Safety Codes, and Energy Conservation Codes.
• Proficient in technical/design software, including illumination calculations and voltage drop.
• Competence in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Skills in code analysis, including local requirements and equipment/wiring selection.
• Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies.
• Capability to work effectively in a remote setting.
• Compliance with company and site safety standards.
• Proficient in analyzing and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to communicate directly with clients and occasionally serve as the primary client contact.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with moderate supervision.
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Organizational skills and capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10%, potentially across all 50 U.S. states.
