This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Consolidate the coalition’s organizational framework, including the transition to a unified fiscal entity.
• Oversee the completion and enhancement of financial systems.
• Lead and manage the budget and subgrants processes for 2027.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies, grant requirements, accounting standards, and financial obligations.
• Monitor budget performance against actuals, identifying financial trends, variances, and any instances of underspending or overspending.
• Support the development and implementation of organizational security protocols.
• Direct daily operations of the coalition.
• Clarify decision-making structures, roles, responsibilities, and processes.
• Ensure continuity between coalition meetings and decision-making forums.
• Act as a strategic thought partner to coalition leadership.
• Maintain governance documentation and institutional knowledge.
• Assess and enhance coalition governance practices.
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings for staff and the leadership team.
• Plan and organize retreats for the leadership team and coordinating committee.
• Provide strategic oversight for organizational priorities, projects, and meetings.
• Track commitments, priorities, and deliverables, identifying risks to timelines or capacity.
• Report to KIWA’s Executive Director, CCWP Co-Presidents, and Co-Managing Directors.
• Collaborate with CCWP staff, the steering committee, and workgroups focused on policy, organizing, and communications.
• Must reside in California.
• Proven experience as an operations and executive leader.
• Strong systems thinking capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent project and program management skills.
• Ability to formulate plans, set timelines, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure projects transition from strategy to execution.
• Capacity to excel in complex environments, manage competing priorities, and demonstrate sound judgment.
• Familiarity with financial systems and tools, including QuickBooks, Bill.com, and related nonprofit financial management systems.
• Understanding of nonprofit organizational structures, organizational development, and security protocols.
• Experience in coalition-based work.
• Knowledge of the California labor movement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
• Three professional references required.
• Resume and a brief cover letter are mandatory.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
