This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide daily leadership, coaching, feedback, and support to a team of software engineers.
• Establish clear expectations and foster an environment where engineers can excel in their work.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to support performance, growth, and career advancement.
• Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
• Cultivate a collaborative and accountable team culture across a geographically dispersed organization.
• Gain an understanding of the team's ongoing projects, technical challenges, and customer commitments.
• Engage in design discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making.
• Aid engineers in deconstructing complex problems and selecting practical, maintainable solutions.
• Directly contribute during challenging integrations, production issues, or critical delivery phases.
• Advocate for engineering best practices in code quality, testing, documentation, security, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with Product Management and partner teams to clarify priorities, define scope, and establish realistic plans.
• Balance new integration development with maintenance, customer requirements, and technical debt.
• Identify risks and dependencies, eliminate blockers, and keep stakeholders updated.
• Work in partnership with Architecture, Quality Engineering, DevOps, Customer Success, and Support teams.
• Enhance team processes while avoiding unnecessary complexity or overhead.
• Promote the thoughtful use of AI-assisted development, testing, documentation, and code-review tools.
• Assist in automating repetitive tasks to improve speed or quality.
• Apply human review to AI-generated outputs to ensure security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Proven experience in managing or formally leading software engineers in a first-line leadership role.
• A hands-on leadership approach and a willingness to stay technically engaged with the team.
• Strong backend software engineering expertise in Python, Go, Java, or a similar language.
• Experience in building, integrating, or operating production software and APIs.
• A practical understanding of microservices, distributed applications, or cloud-based systems.
• The ability to convert product or customer needs into clear, actionable engineering tasks.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• A proven track record of coaching engineers and delivering reliable software in a dynamic environment.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred: Experience in cybersecurity products or domains such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, XDR, or security automation.
• Preferred: Familiarity with API and integration patterns such as REST, GraphQL, webhooks, streaming APIs, OAuth, or rate limiting.
• Preferred: Knowledge of message queues, event-driven systems, or workflow orchestration technologies.
• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, containers, or Kubernetes.
• Preferred: Background in large-scale data processing, observability, incident management, or site reliability practices.
• Preferred: Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, LLM APIs, function calling, MCP, or agent-based workflows.
